Royal Doulton

Royal Doulton, a celebrated British ceramics manufacturer, traces its origins back to 1815 when John Doulton founded a pottery in Lambeth, London, initially producing stoneware. In 1835, Doulton was joined by his business partners, including the renowned pottery designer Henry Doulton, which led to the establishment of the Doulton company as a significant player in the ceramics industry.

The introduction of the “Royal” title came in 1901 when King Edward VII granted the company a Royal Warrant, recognizing its high-quality products. The late 19th and early 20th centuries marked a period of expansion, with the launch of iconic lines such as the beloved Bunnykins in 1934.

Throughout its history, Royal Doulton has been known for its innovative designs, and by the 21st century, it had expanded its offerings to include fine china, giftware, and collectibles, cementing its status as a leading name in the world of ceramics.
