Product Description:

Here is an absolutely amazing example of a Paragon Stirling Dinner Service from 1957 – 1960.

It has come from a family in North Yorkshire and has been the prize possession of the sellers’ mother and hardly used over the 50-plus years it has been in the family. It was always kept in a glass-fronted display dresser.

52 pieces (including lids, saucers).

  • 6 x Rimmed Bowls (9 in or 23 cm diameter)
  • 6 x Dinner Plates (10.5 in or 27 cm diameter)
  • 1 x Gravy Sauce boat jug & Saucer (7.5 in or 19 cm length)
  • 1 x Milk Creamer Jug (10 cm tall)
  • 1 x Sugar bowl lidded (9 cm tall)
  • 1 x Meat Plate (33.5 cm length)
  • 6 x Side Plates (6 in or 15 cm diameter)
  • 6 x Teacups (8.5 cm diameter by 5.5 cm tall) & Saucers (14 cm diameter) – Hairline cracks on one cup (see condition)
  • 6 x Coffee cups (6.5 cm diameter by 6 cm tall) & Saucers (12 cm diameter)
  • 2 x Tureen handled pot with Lid (23 cm wide by 13 cm tall)

Reference:

Makers Mark /Identifying Features: Yes, see base

Estimated Age: 1957-1960

Condition: Immaculate Used condition, as it has hardly been used and stored away in a display cabinet with a further 9 years in boxed storage until now. It is striking how mostly it appears to have almost no cutlery marks and the glaze sheen along with gold gilt, mainly looks like it was painted on yesterday. The odd small cutlery scratch mark, minor blue paint mark, colour change or other minor irregularites can be seen if you look hard enough.  The only real possible issue is 2 faint hairline cracks (2/3 cm) seen on one cup, however the cup is perfectly useable.

General Note:

Due to the nature of how these products have been made, tool marks may occasionally be apparent, as are small air bubbles, very minor blemishes. Some items may vary in weight or thickness as well, therefore any sizes/capacity/weights given are approximate.

Please keep in mind that our items are most often vintage or antique, sometimes many decades or even a century or two old, so they will show some signs of wear and usage. These are not mint items from the factory (unless we specifically say so). We include in our item condition and pictures any issues that are significant, however cannot cover every single condition possibility with photos and hence the following grading has been given to each item.
